Drayton Reservoir is a very well known stillwater angling venue located in Northamptonshire. It was stocked with around 50,000 carp that have quickly grown into decent weight specimens. It's most noted for Carp/Specimen, Coarse, Match and Pike/Predator fishing. Pike, Roach, Tench, Common and Mirror Carp are amongst the key species on offer at the venue.
It is not uncommon for anglers to catch 20lb carp on a regular basis, and so anglers are advised to fish strong, as countless rods and poles have been recovered from the reservoirs depths!
British Waterways bailiffs patrol the reservoir every few hours, selling tickets and offering advice to anglers. Most of the fishing pegs have disabled access ( apart from the Dam wall), and there is a toilet on site.
Night fishing is also possible at this venue.
